Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays.

Here's a card I made for my Personal Trainer Brandon. He's the best. He works me out hard but he's very encouraging and he knows what he's doing.

If you get a chance to read this please forgive my tantrums. Hey, I'm human. Lol.

Merry Christmas Everyone. Click here and here for pics of the Christmas festivities.

Bad Blogger.......

I've been a bad blogger lately. I haven't updated my blog in at least 4 weeks. School and getting used to teaching 150+ kids and keeping track of all the paperwork that goes along with all of that has kept me pretty busy.

I have been crafting some and I will post pics soon. I will also post pics of my classroom. It keeps changing much to the chagrin of my kids but hey.......I'm embracing change in 2009.

Love you. Thank you for all the kind words of encouragement and the prayers. Special thanks to Stephanie @ withagrin.blogspot.com and Kathryn @ thescrapbeach.blogspot.com.

Pink Cricut Expression & Susan G Komen

Since I began my teaching career {2 weeks ago....lol} I've come across some great people who have really taken me in and allowed me to become apart of their family of educators. One of those special people is Sherry. She's an incredible spirit and so funny. In that time I've also found out that her beloved sister died from breast cancer recently. It's been a really emotional time and Sherry has been very strong yet vulnerable. I'm so priviledged to know Sherry and just a small bit about her sister but her devotion to her sister and her family is so inspirational to me. She's also a fabulous teacher who really loves our kids, as do I.

I say all this because I've been eying a cricut expression for a while now. Saved up for it and have been sitting on the funds for quite some time just wondering if I really want to spend the money. Provo craft has just given me a reason; if not to support the Susan G. Komen foundation, but to support a fabulous person who has been directly affected by the disease of breast cancer. I will be purchasing the pink cricut.

In this video Robyn - The Pink Stamper unboxes her pink Cricut Expression.

Enjoy and be blessed.

Provo Craft has created a special pink Cricut[R] Expression and a custom YourStory[TM] kit designed to foster awareness around breast cancer. The pink Cricut Expression will also come with a pink cartridge containing images and designs specific to breast cancer awareness; the YourStory kit, which includes one album cover, three sticker sheets and 11 double-sided pages, will contain similar images and designs. Provo Craft will donate $50 per pink Cricut machine and $10 per YourStory to the Susan G. Komen for the Cure foundation when purchased at any Michaels store from August 15 to October 31.

Amazing Ornaments

If you have not seen the creations from Becca Feeken you have been missing out. She is extraordinary and that is no exaggeration. You have to see these ornaments. How fun would they be for a project with the girls over hot chocolate? And cheap. Gotta love that and Gotta love Becca at Amazing Paper Grace.

So what's been up with me: My first week of teaching has been a blast. What fun it is (can you tell I'm in a christmas mood) to actually do what you know you are supposed to be doing. Between crafting {which I am totally having withdrawls from right now} and teaching life is really good right now. Thanks to everyone for all their encouragement. It means a whole lot to me.

Love ya,

Craving Sugar: You Rock Card

You Rock Card2 by you.

Good Evening All.

It's been an extremely exhausting and exciting week. I began my training and professional development for the upcoming school year. I've been organizing my classroom and my has it been a task. I come home every night exhausted and motivated for the next day.

Since I journed into the education field by means of an Alternative Certification I have a mentor for this year. Her name is Janis and she is a life saver. If it were not for her I don't know if I'd be as excited and confident as I am about the impending school year. She is the coolest, sweetest, nicest lady and she's right next door to me so her proximity couldn't be better. She is a true gem.

I decided to make this card just as a thank you for being so nice and helpful to me, and for also telling the truth about what I can expect my first year. It's been a journey for me and I'm glad she's taking the time to help me reach my goal.

Well that's it for now.

Supplies: Note card from michaels, PP from American Crafts Teen collection, stamps from WRMC teen angst - Arm stamp, Letter stamps are from ??? {Sorry}.

Have a great week.

Craving Sugar: Best Wishes

Photobucket

Hello All,

The weekend is here and I'm so glad. This is the last weekend before I go to work as a teacher. OMG. I can still remember my middle and high school years and to think I'm a teacher now. How funny is that? Boy does time fly. Well I am on my way to adulthood as I begin my search for my first home. How excited am I? Well I'm watching season 2 of Sex in the City and since I am Single in my city it's only fitting that I create my very own bachelorette pad. Trump the traditional and make my own way. Well here is a card that I made from a very good friend of mine. Steven. I missed his birthday party because I overcommited myself again. I will do better. I hope he likes it.

TTYL,

Craving Sugar: Mom Card

Photobucket Photobucket

Hi All. TGIF,

Thank Goodness it's Friday. It's been a long week of preparations upon preparations as I embark on my first year as a public school educator. All of the trainings have been a blast, while some more entertaining than others, they have all boosted my confidence and desire to excel this year. In addition to that I've been doing some redecorating and relocating. I've really just expanded into two rooms at Mom's house now. Lucky me.....I know. I'm so ready to move out but the hold of no rent/mortgage, and family are too strong to resist right now. I'd love to purchase my own home but being a southern girl my mother would prefer that I stay home with her until I marry. Can we say traditional?? lol. I don't think I will be home until then but I am currently looking for at homes in a few select areas of town. With the market being so great right now isn't this the best time to make something happen??? Well in light of all that I did get a chance to work in the new studio today. This card is for my bestie's mom. It's her birthday and she pretty much left the design up to me. I found this stamp at Michael's today and thought it would be perfect.

Until my next scrapsugar craving....

My Studio is coming together. More pics.

Here are the new pics of my craft space. Some of the items are new, some are free finds, and some are cheapie solutions to storage problems. I've been having a blast coming up with new storage ideas and the like.I highlighted all the new additions. The desktop hutch was a freebie. I might be taking this to my classroom instead of leaving it in the studio though. Any thoughts? I got the large expedit yesterday from Ikea. The best purchase yet. So much storage. And the rods are from Ikea too. I got Bygel one's but I'd already purchased these Gunvalson ones. I haven't hung the Bygel rails yet. Let me know what you think. Thanks, Angela

My Darling Baby

Photobucket

Photobucket

He's the only baby I have. And he's obedient, kind, loving, disciplined sometimes, a gentle spirit, and so so sweet.

(didn't I do a good job with these pics, I'm so proud of myself)

Craft Room/Office Makeover Pics

It has been a long journey of moving trucks, assembling, and disassembling furniture, the hunt for a file cabinet (who knew it would be so hard) and more but it's finally coming together and I'm loving it. This is just a preview as the majority of the elements for the room have not been scouted out yet. lol. But it's coming along nicely. Let me know what you think. Also I'm looking for 12 x 12 paper storage racks. Wire one's like in the craft loft by Mary Fish of Stampin Pretty. If you know where I can find them please leave me a comment. Thanks.

My no Internet weekend

I'm havin serious internet withdrawl right now. I'm at my besties house this weekend and she is switching carriers so no Internet all weekend. OMG. It's ridiculous I know but I speak the truth when I say withdrawls. LOL. Seeing as it's Saturday night and i've been here since Thursday I can see that I can go without at least for a weekend. I'm updating from her iPhone right now. Gotta love it. Love y'all.

Storage Question: How do you store your 12 x 12 papers.

So I'm getting a craft room/office and i'm so excited. But I'm wondering how in the world I'm going to store all my scraps, patterned paper, and cardstock. Right now I have everything stored vertically on a bookshelf and that is absolutely not working. I have one of these storage cubes from Michael's (a + because I used a 40% off coupon and got it for about $15
but I'm not sure if I like it because it only has 4-5 slots. It might work for patterned paper but not for cardstock. I found this storage cube made by Kaiser Crafts....
I haven't ordered one yet they only place that I've found these are at scrapbookingalley.com and they have no tax and free shipping, that's a real bonus for me. They are about $26.

I found this on EBAY it is exactly what I'm looking for however it's $45 each plus shipping. Not liking that price at all.

He does have them in a 12 x 12 size along with a 8 1/2 x 11 size. He even makes an ink holder for stampin up inks and reinkers and markers. You have to see that. Click here for his ebay store.

How cool is this. I would add this to my wishlist but its $85. OMG.

Here is a photo of his product line-up. Great stuff just out of my price range.
I'm leaning toward a combination of options 1 and 2 right now but I have no idea what I'm going to do about scraps.

Any other ideas or solutions?

Please leave me a comment and a link if you can find one.

CHA Highlights: Provo Craft Gypsy & lots more

Good Morning,

So being a new crafter, and a new educator (Personal Update: I got the teaching position here as an 8th Grade English Teacher....yay), I was unable to make it to CHA Summer 2009 but thanks to the wonders of Youtube and one of my fav website Crafty Critique I've been keep abreast to all the happenings, new products, collection, etc. So here are a few highlights that I've found so far.

Provo Craft Gypsy

So I don't have a cricut yet but oh that is so on my crafting wishlist. After seeing the gypsy do you think it's a necessity? I haven't gone on many crops but I can see that this would be a great tool to have. Especially if you have a crafting buddy nearby you can purchase one together and share cartridges this way. What do you think?

Here's a great interview with our Fav Guy Tim Holtz from Crafty Critique and in the second video Tim Holtz makes a tag for us

So I'm so going to have to add the new quiter heat tool to my wishlist. How cool is that?

Now for more in the electronic die cutters here is a new cutter from Craftwell called the eCraft.

Here is a great demonstration of the epic six. Man o Man I'm so going to go broke. Who can keep away from all these great tools? I will have to exercise some restraint here. lol.

So I have to give a big thank you to Crafty Critique keeping us informed and updated with CHA Summer 2009.
