.:{ New Year: New beginning(s) }:.

As the new year approaches, just a few hours away, I am more thankful now than I was on Thanksgiving. There have been so many ups and downs, more ups than downs, and I've done many firsts.

1. I took my first cruise.

Here's a pic of my one of my very good friends, Ilene and me, on the boat. She got married, and I got a great tan (She just turned really red, I mean REALLY red. :-)

2. I started my very own business.

It's still in the works right now but it will be launching online at the beginning of the year. So super excited about that.

3. I started grad school, again.

So the stories is that I attended 4 different colleges during undergrad because I couldn't find my groove in college. I finally graduated after taking about a year and a half off. Presently I've only attended 3 graduate schools but the third time was the charm because I am fully in the groove. Getting my "Goove Back" educationally only, pretty slow in personal area. Lol.

4. I have actually scrapbooked.

Here are a few of my fav layouts. I only have a couple anyway so all of them are my favs right now. he. he.

Journaling:

It took a long time for me to love her.

To even think she's worthy to be loved at all,

And all the times she's let her heart be broken,

Made me realize that I am HER.

Beautiful in my own eyes,

And it took me too DAMN long to get to this point.

And some days I'm not there; I don't believe it, I can't believe it.

BUt now at the age of 27 almost 28,

There are more days that I do believe it than there are days that I don't.

And I've finally come in to my own as a woman,

Believing that I can do what I want to do and not taking in everybody else's opinion about it

Miss you, Alaric Layout. I made this layout in memory of my very good friend Alaric who died a few years ago of a bacterial infection. I miss him so much. This is Alaric and me with our godson Peyton.

My very first commissioned layout for a wedding gift. I used the save-the-date card and the wedding invitation on the layout. Love you Linnell.

This is my very favorite layout. This is my little brother when he was 11 (he's now 18) and my 1st Godson Landon when he was 1 year old (he's now 7). I found this picture about a month ago and just had to scrapbook it.  I'd just recieved my PTI order with the banner builder dies and stamps. I ABSOLUTELY love this layout.

This year I resolve to scrapbook more, make more time to be alone with me (massages included, and to take better care of myself. That's is. The results of those 3 things should bring about all the results I desire for the year.

Hugs & Ciao for the last time in 2010...

New Layout: My Boys + Glee!

HI all.

This marks my first blog post since going on Thanksgiving break. Oh the benefits of being a teacher. But here it goes. My little brother Taylor came into my office the other day with these pics of him and my first god-son Landon. These pics are at least 5 years old but they reminded me of when my babies were little and so so cute. They are still cute, btw. But I just loved these pics and they screamed scrapbook me. Now I'm not a huge scrapbooker. This is only my 4th layout that I've ever attempted but I say it's my 3rd since my first one was so horrible (Let's just not mention it at all) but I've gotten better every time I've attempted a layout and I absolutely love this one. Plus I got to use some of my PapertreyInk goodies on it, namely the banner dies.

Sorry for the poor picture quality. I took this with my iphone. I'll post a better pic later this week.

Supplies:

Papertrey Ink - Stampers Select White cardstock, Banner Builder Collection Dies, buttons, large scallop border die.  Stampin' Up! - Pear Pizzazz, Not Quite Navy, Peach Parfait, and Real Red Cardstock, Pear Pizzazz, River Rock, Sahara Sand Classic Ink. Making Memories - Big Kids Boys 8x8 Paper Collection & stickers, EK Success - Large Scallop Embossing border punch, The Twinery - Marischino Twine, Recollections - Alpha Clear Stamps (from my stash & purchased at Michaels)

I just finished up some grad school homework and was checking out my google reader when I came across this great video via Glee. Now I'm not a huge fan of TV at all. I don't get the opportunity to watch much of it but I'm a musical theatre junkie (My fav is Cats and I have it on VHS - don't laugh. ha!). So enjoy.

That's all for now. Ciao.

New Prima Layout: Rock Out

Hi all.

Since coming back from my vacation I've developed this uncanny love of scrapbooking. I've never been much of a layout girl. I started in card making and I truly love making cards, however lately my love of photography has spilled out into a love of traditional scrapbooking so here's my latest try.

RockOutMe
All of these papers are from the Prima Marketing Rock Out on Love collection. I don't know how old this collection is but I got this paper pack on clearance at Michaels last year sometime. This is from the girl collection, but I also have the boy collection and I love them both equally. Lol.

Prima Marketing: Rock Out on Love - Girl collection, PTI - Black & Kraft cardstock, button, Imaginiesce - i-Top tool, Martha Stewart - Butterfly Punch, Stampin' Up! - Heart to Heart punch (119881) , Misc - Ribbon from my stash, Janome Sew Mini - sewing machine

Project Unveiled: CommemorativeWeddingGift using invites

Hi all,

A few weeks ago I posted here about a project I was working on. My dear co-worker had a former student who was getting married and she had the super awesome idea of using this wedding invitation and save the date card as a commemorative gift. She gave me both the invite and save the date (I so was going o abbreviate the save the date but when I saw it came out to STD I decided against. lol.) And pretty much left it up to me. So off I went.

I did have a bit of direction because the back of the save the date card was in a kind of scrap-booking format with a cute digital layout style. So I used this as a jumping off point and went from there incorporating the colors used, and a little bit of the layout as inspiration.

Here is the layout right before it was finished. I added a few more touches to it later.

Here it is all finished and framed. I can't believe how great the frame looks. It's sort of cream colored and distressed. The purple mat looks like velvet and then it has a small green mat beneath it. My iPhone pics does not do it justice. Linnell brought it to my classroom to let me see and I so wanted it back it was so beautiful. I wish I could say this was my idea to do this but it was all Linnell. All the papers are from a Walmart brand scrapbooking paper pack from Best Occasions punch out paper pack. The hearts were punched with the Stampin' Up! Heart Trio punch, and miscellaneous pearls and ribbon from my stash.

A Layout and another update.

Hi all.

I'm trying to redesign my blog again and it's not going so well. I was using a custom theme builder theme and just changed it to a stock theme from typepad and my blog is not updating. Ugh. On top of that I designed a simple blog header in photoshop and tried to upload it to the blog and it's not working. I also tried the CSS option found here and it didn't work either.

Needless to say I've put that off until another day when I don't have a million and one things going on.

I'm working on a wedding layout for a dear friend. One of her former students is getting married and she wanted a commemorative layout made up using their wedding invitation and save-the-date card. What a great idea right??? Here's a little sneak peek. I don't want to post it just yet incase the bride or groom happens by my blog.

(Please excuse the photo quality. I took this photo with my iPhone.....)

I've never really been much of a traditional scrapbooker. Being a single girl I always thought it weird to have an entire scrapbook filled with layouts all about me. But this was so much fun that I might just have to get over my reservations and just do it. Maybe scrapbook for other people? I wonder if people even do that. If you do let me know.

In addition to all that I'm currently frequenting this particular website for reasons I can't reveal just yet. Lets just say I really love Michael Jackson and will be paying tribute to him through dance. So much fun though. You will see what happens with this soon.

I did help a friend out with her moving garage sale over the weekend and oh my goodness it was so much fun. You can't beat great friends, helping hands, and weird garage sale junkies. Hilarious. Plus I scored a few goodies from my friend Jess.

I got a desk chair, a Dell LCD monitor, a Canon EOS RebelG 35 mm camera, 2 XL barstools (not shown), a couple a REAL SIMPLE magazines (that I absolutely love), and loads of books, all for only $60 bucks. I offered more but she turned me down. I just love that Jess.

Sweet hugs,

Angee
